A Small Contest

I need your help. I am trying to figure out what knots are used in this design.  Anyone know???

Please take a look at this bracelet . Does anyone know what knot is used to make it? I am wondering if it is a muli strand braid.

A free key chain or hemp jewelry kit to the one who figures this out first.  I know nothing huge or anything, but thought it might be fun to give something away for a little bit of help ;)

NOTE: The knot has been figured out! See comments. Contest is done.

Thanks!

Happy Knotting

    Cindy,

Yeah, I hope someone can help me out here. But if not that is fine too. I thought it might be fun to try anyhow.

Ok, I think I figured it out. It looks a lot like the pattern that you get when you do boondoggle circle stitches. Look at this website: http://www.boondoggleman.com/prj_circle_stitch.htm
Don’t they look pretty similar? I might be wrong, I haven’t tried it to see if it actually comes out looking like the bracelet posted. If I have time I’ll try it out and tell you if it works. Hope this helps!

    Hi Kristy,

I just thought I would tell you that I tried it out with hemp and it does look like the picture. You just need to make sure that you do only circle stitches and don’t accidentally do a square stitch, because then you can see the flaw in the twisting pattern. I’m glad you posted the picture of that bracelet, it gave me the idea to look at other boondoggle stitches to get new ideas for my hemp jewelry.

Also I just wanted to say that your website is awesome and thank you for posting a lot of great ideas and tips!

    Good luck!

Actually, I think the bracelet you are trying to make it the gymp pattern, doubled! Which is where it gets it’s thickness, and if you look close the stiches, they are doubled. I don’t know if that helped any…

It’s a simple crown knot. it’s not really simple as the name suggest though. you use 5 strings and cross overs, there is a great sight for knots that it is on. just yahoo crown knot and it will come up.

I think the knot is similar to the one on this web page:
