It may be swirling because you are not switching sides every time you make the knot. For example, you start on the right side and once you get the knot tightened you are starting the next part on the right side, that will make the half knot swirl look. Now, if you are starting your knot on the right side, after you tighten the knot, you must start the NEXT knot on the left side. Like in the first pic in this post.. See if that helps. Why is it swirling? Im using the same knot I do when I make swirls but I try and tape the strands down to make it straight and it still swirls. It seems like Im not doing something right.
