Switch Knot

Another knot to add to your collection of knotting knowledge.

This one is fun and easy to do. Fun with different colored hemp let your imagination soar!

I have used Natural colored and red colored hemp so to help with the visual aspect of this knot.

Step 1:

switch knot

This is to just show the square knots I started with and which cords I used as knotter and knot bearers. I used the read as the knot bearer and the natural color as the knotters.

Step 2:

switch knot

When you are ready to put the switch knot in your work, you are going to “switch” the knot bearers with the knotters. Take the natural cord and go over the red cord. Fasten down the natural cord as it is now the knot bearer.

Step 3:

switch knot

Now you will take the red cords, and use them as the knotters and make a square knot over the natural color knot bearers. Make your square knot down as far as you want on the natural colored hemp, I usually go about an half inch or inch.

That is it. Not much to this knot. But it is a cool look especially with two different types of hemp color!!!

Happy Knotting
